Jeff Jones

President / Manager / Funeral Director / Embalmer

Jeff Jones a native of Harlan, Kentucky, he grew up in the family's funeral business and learned about taking care of folks from his father, Dukie Jones, a prominent and respected funeral director who passed away in 1999. The family firm is still in operation today, with his brother John serving families just as their father would expect.

Jeff is a 1985 graduate of Harlan High School and 1986 graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In 1996, he met and married his wife and best friend Penny. They have three children (Whitnie, Hunter, and Noah) and four grandchildren (John, Emma, Avie, and Mollie). In his spare time, he enjoys being with family, watching "the kids" in sporting events and -- when the weather allows — spending time at South Holston Lake.

Jeff is a Licensed Funeral Service Licensee in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Tennessee, holds a Courtesy Card in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and is a Certified Crematory Operator.

Penny Jones

Secretary Treasurer (Non-Licensed)

Penny is a 1991 graduate of James A. Cawood High School and 1993 graduate of Southeast Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree. She met and married her best friend Jeff in 1996. They have three children (Whitnie, Hunter, and Noah) and four grandchildren (John, Emma, Avie, and Mollie).

Penny has been with TCMS since 2008 serving as the office manager. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her greatest enjoyment is being a “MOM” and "Mimi".

Jessee Hagan

Vice President / Funeral Director/Embalmer/Pre-Need Agent

Jessee Patton Hagan, a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia and currently he and his wife, Morgan reside in Weber City, Virginia with their son, Luke Andrew.

Jessee earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Upon graduating Mortuary College Jessee was awarded the Arthur J. Russler Memorial Embalming Award for the highest competence in the clinical setting as evaluated by the clinical faculty.

He is currently a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in Tennessee, a Funeral Service Licensee in the Commonwealth of Virginia, holds a Courtesy Card in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a Certified Crematory Operator, and a licensensed Pre-Need agent. He is a 4th generation funeral professional.

Houston Thacker

Funeral Service Intern

Houston Thacker is a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He has been in the funeral business for 4 years. He graduated from John I. Burton high school in 2019. He is currently attending Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Houston resides in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Houston looks forward to meeting the people of Lee County and will be assisting families from both locations. Houston is an avid Tennessee Vol fan. Go VOLS!

Adam Wolfe

Adam Wolfe is a native of Abingdon, Virginia. His career in funeral service began at Farris Funeral service as a funeral assistant. He spent five years serving the people of Abingdon before completing his apprenticeship at Combs-Hess Funeral Service in Lebanon.

Adam is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Tennessee.

He and his wife, Emily pastor Austin Springs Methodist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Patti (Hall) Berry was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She moved to Lee County, Virginia in 1984 and has worked for the Funeral Home since 1985.

Steve Neff

Powell Valley Office Manager/Funeral Director Apprentice

Steve is a native of Lee County and has lived in the Flatwoods community his entire life. He graduated from Jonesville High School in 1986. Steve has been a Pastor since 2005 and has preached since 2001. He married his wife, Misti, in 1995. He has one son, Bradley and his wife, Kayla. Two grandchildren, Sammy and Ellie. He is the current Pastor at Thompson Settlement Baptist Church and a former mail carrier and postmaster in Rose Hill.

Nikki Robbins is a native of Lee County, Virginia. She is a 2010 gradutate of Lee High School. Nikki has 6 children Mackenzie, Maddison, Wrenleigh, Mia, Molly, and Melody. She currently works at Flatwoods Elementary as a paraprofessional.
