Obituary

William Joseph "Billy" Ketron, age 37, of Hiltons, received his heavenly rest Thursday morning, April 4, 2024 at his residence. He was welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was born July 12, 1986 in Kingsport TN a son of Ricky Joe Ketron and Lisa Michele Luster. Billy loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an active volunteer in his community coaching youth sports and protecting lives and property serving as a member of the Hiltons Volunteer Fire Department. Billy was a 2004 graduate of Gate City High School, where he played football and was a member of the 2003 state championship team. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: William G. Lloyd.

Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 10 years: Sasha (Trent) Ketron, sons: Hunter and Colton. 3 stepchildren, whom he considered and loved as his own: Tyler Manis, Sarah Lane (Shaun) and Ethan Manis (Melody). Grandchildren: Addie, Raelynn, Waylon, Levi and arriving soon, Jaelynn. Mother and step father: Lisa and Robert Luster. Father: Rick Ketron. Brother: Brandon Ketron (Tori). Niece: Lyla and nephew: Ira. Grandparents: Sheliah Estes, Joe and Jean Ketron. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including special friends: Jeremy and Allison Collins, Chris Carter and all his "brothers" at Hiltons Fire Department. His special little gal Lucie.

Funeral services will be Monday evening, April 8, 2024 at 7PM at the Heritage Baptist Church, 5102 Gate City Highway, with Pastor Preston Harper and Pastor Jeremy Ketron officiating. The family will welcome friends from 5 until 7 preceding the services. The graveside committal will be Tuesday morning at 11 am in the Ketron Family Cemetery, 2899 Eaton Hill Road, Hiltons. It is requested every one meet at the cemetery by 10:45 for those services. Pallbearers will be: Gary Lloyd, Brandon Ketron, Ethan Manis, Shaun Lane, Chris Carter, Jeremy Collins, Tyler Brickey and Marshall McMurray. Tyler Manis wiil be a honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary kindness shown to them by Triple J Transportation during this difficult season. Although Billy had only worked for them a short time, he considered them the best he'd ever known.
