Wayne Snodgrass age 73 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Monday, February 1, 1943 in Raw Hide, VA and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was a retired electrician at Westmoreland Coal Co. and a member of the U.M.W of A. Wayne had been a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a radio and radar technician on fighter air crafts. He was a member of the Robbins Chapel Methodist Church and he coached little and senior league baseball from the mid 70s to the mid 90s. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching golf. Wayne was a wonderful person, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to Shea, Jacob, Brittney and Laci Faith. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Snodgrass, in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Michael Snodgrass and two sisters Janice Russell and Alice Maples. Wayne was a loving husband and survived by his wife of 49 years Frankie McKnight Snodgrass of the home, two sons Brian Snodgrass and wife, Carlene of Gloucester, VA and Darrell Snodgrass and wife, Amy of Keokee, VA, one brother Jack Isom and wife, Shirley of Monticello, IN, one sister Loujean Pendergraft and husband, Bill of New Castle, IN, several nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rick Phillips officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Monday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the McKnight Family Cemetery in Robbins Chapel Virginia. Military Rites will be conducted by local VFW Posts and the National Guard Honors Team.
