Walter Glenn Woodard, 74, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

Walter was born on March 29, 1951, to the late Luard and Charlene Woodard.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in by a son, James Willis Woodard; step mother, Barbara Woodard; brothers, Rex Ridings and Johnny Woodard; sister, Cindy Brewer.

Those left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Dianna Woodard; sons, Keith Woodard and Shane Woodard; daughters, Shanna Woodard and Honey Woodard; brothers, James Roy Woodard and Howard Penley; sisters, Brenda Woodard and Lisa Pennington; favorite son in law, Dustin Woodard; grandchildren, Brandon, Gavin, Seth, Desiree, Keayn, Kaden, Kelsey, Kaleb, Tyler, Alyssa, Hudson, and Aiden Jennings; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Paul Davis Jr., officiating.

Per the family's wishes, Walter will be cremated.
