WALTER FLOYD MEDLEY WOODWAY, VA - Walter Floyd Medley was born Wednesday, July 8, 1925 and died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Woodway, VA. Floyd was preceded in death by parents Julian and Sallie Medley and a brother John Medley (Angere) . Floyd is survived by brothers Lloyd and Arthur Medley, a sister Thelma Jean Nixon (Jim) and daughter Linda Jean Emmrich (Royce). Floyd was a proud World War II Veteran serving from September 1943 to June 1946. A contractor, builder, chairman of the Republican Party, chairman of the welfare board and friend of the people of Lee County. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodway, VA. Great friend Jim Parsons and Lloyd Medley will conduct services. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Saturday to go to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to the St. Charles Church of God at PO Box H St. Charles, VA 24282.
