Obituary Wallace Thompson "June Bug", age 78, was born in Pike County, Ky on September 1, 1942 to Wallace and Pauline (Finch) Thompson. Wally passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. He was a devout Christian since 1969 and was a member of Emmaus of Kingsport in Kingsport, TN. Wally is preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Pauline Thompson; seven sisters, Freda Phelps, Mary McCoy, Betty Taylor, Jessie Thacker, Billie Miller, Edna Temmen, and Jennie Lou Stewart; one brother Ireland Thompson. Wally is survived by his spouse Kay Thompson of 54 years; two sons Matthew Thompson (Bobbie Jo) and Mark Thompson; one daughter Melissa "Lisa" Manis (Mark); two sisters JoAnne Tristani and Barb Garcia (Mike); one brother Gary Thompson; his grandchildren Caleb Thompson (Morgan), Harley Thompson, Logan Thompson, Cory Thompson (Candace), James Manis (Kristy), and Cari Evans (Eric); sixteen great-grandchildren, Scotty, Taylee, Timber, Lillie, Maddie, Hudson, Kinsley, Rhett, Max, Raylin, Brantley, Callie, Peyten, Cayten, Hazely, and Baby Evans; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
