Virginia Doris Norrod, age 82 of Beaver Creek, OH and formerly of Jonesville, VA was born in Lee County on Saturday, June 23, 1934 and passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Beavercreek, OH. She was a homemaker, loved quilting, making corn husk dolls and carving baskets out of peach pits for her dolls. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and going to Church. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA while she resided in Virginia and continued her membership in the Baptist Faith by becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Kettering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lutro Norrod; her parents, Dewey and Sarepta Bledsoe; four brothers, Roy Lee, Ronnie, Keith and Donnie Bledsoe and one daughter-in-law, Robin Norrod. She is survived by three sons, Ron Norrod and wife Myrna of Whitewater, CO, Larry Norrod of Tulare, CA and Jay Norrod and wife Sue of Jamestown, OH; one daughter, Vicki Neace and husband Mike of Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Bledsoe and wife Gloria of Elizabethton, TN and Neil Bledsoe and wife Jackie of Atlanta, GA; one sister-in-law, Ruth Bledsoe of Martinsville, VA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Friendship Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA with Pastor Fred Cagle officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Monday. Burial will follow at the Cooney Cemetery in the Cooney Hollow Community of Jonesville, VA. Family will serve as pallbearers.
