Virginia Lewis, 92, of Jonesville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Virginia was born on May 14, 1932 in Rose Hill, Virginia to the late Bill Lawson and Lizzie Roark Lawson. She devoted her life to caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with love and everyone was welcome.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William "Oscar" Lewis; grandson, Ray Ray Lewis and granddaughter, Harmony Rogers and several siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Danny Lewis and wife Sis, Ray Lewis and wife Mary, Gene Lewis (Sherri), and Darrell Lewis and wife Tracy; grandchildren Danny Lewis Jr., Chris Lewis, Jamie Lewis, Steven Lewis and wife Jessica, Sarah Standifer and husband James, Lance Lewis, and Dakota Phillips and husband Cody, Amanda Horton, Victoria Eldridge and husband Isaiah; step-grandchildren Stephen Curry, Eric Curry and Allen Curry; great-grandchildren Blake, Cassie, Piper, Alyssa, Riya, Luke, Amara, Braelyn, Esme, Madison, Erica, Meredith, Eleanor, and Nora; great-great grandson Oliver and a great-great grandson on the way, Salem. She also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Roger Hornsby; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ray and Mary Lewis; and Joe Harber and his wife Amanda, who she thought of like a son.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Powell Valley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Larry Wolfe officiating.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 7, 2025 at Lewis Family Cemetery in the Hubbard Springs Community with Pastor Larry Wolfe officiating. Her grandsons James, Steven, Chris, Junior, Lance, and Joe will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM to go in procession.
