Virginia Bryant Burke age 90 of Jonesville, VA passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Mrs. Burke was born in Lee County, VA to the late Charles Alex and Rose Lee Poteet Bryant on Monday, September 29, 1924. She was active in the Democratic Party at both local and state levels. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Burke; one brother , William Lloyd Bryant; four sisters Thelma Seals, Ruby Holbrook, Lorene Smullens and Margie Beach and one grandson, Jimmie Lloyd Burke, Jr. She is survived by her son Jimmie Lloyd Burke and wife Marie of Jonesville; granddaughter Ginger Burke of Jonesville; sister Betty Louise Brooks and longtime friend Mike Ryan both of Kettering, OH and caregivers Chasity, Betty, Stephanie, Pat an Kristi. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Eulogy by Mike Ryan. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm Saturday until the time of the service.
