Obituary Verna Ellen Langley Jerrell, born Friday, February 27, 1931, departed this life for her heavenly home on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. Verna was a member of Hardys Creek Baptist Church, where she served many years as the Sunday School teacher and Bible School teacher for the Primary class. She enjoyed sewing, reading and attending to her flowers gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jerrell, Jr., parents: Steve and Laura Langley, brothers: Emory, Dewey and Herbert Langley, sisters: Atha Sumner and Bonnie Jerrell. She is survived by daughter, Kathy J. Wolfe (Carlos), and son, Robert L. Jerrell all of Jonesville, VA, granddaughters: Lisa C. Wolfe of Taylorsville, NC, Rachel Wolfe-Wood (Brandon), of Lexington, KY. Verna is also survived by a great-grandson: Cruz Wood of Lexington, KY, one sister: Eva Depew of Jonesville, VA, sisters-in-law Marie Langley of Pennington Gap, VA and Marie Thomas of Jonesville, VA, brothers-in-law Lester D. Jerrell of Pennington Gap, VA, Ray Jerrell of Rose Hill, VA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Reverends Steve Neff and Carlos Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at the Ingle Cemetery in Jonesville, VA.
