Tracy Lane Surber Hughes, age 55, of Pennington Gap, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 1st, 2024.

Tracy was born on Saturday, July 5th, 1969, to the late Howard and Ruth Bailey Surber. Tracy was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She had a kind and generous spirit that touched the lives of many. She worked as a nurse for many years touching the lives of her many patients. Tracy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents Tracy is preceded in death by her brother, Randy Surber.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Mark Hughes Sr.; son, Mark Hughes Jr. and wife Jami; her adored grandsons, Jacob and Jaxon Hughes; brother, Doug Surber; sister, Vicki Ward; along with several extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor James Holcomb officiating.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Virginia with Pastor Fred Cagle officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
