Thelma Jean Robbins Miller was born in Lee County, VA on September 22, 1937 and passed away, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Surgoinsville, TN. Family lovingly surrounded her the last days of her life. She worked in the health care field her entire life. Jean attended Hope Community Church in Allandale. In recent years she found joy in assisting her son-in-law with the Medical Equipment Ministry of Hope Community Church. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and visiting the senior citizen center in Church Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Snowie Robbins; sisters, Norma Lee and Brenda Joyce; son, Jeffrey Allen Cress; and husband, Robert Miller. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mike Bruce of Surgoinsville, TN; daughter and son-in-law Laurie and John Flatt of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren, Katina and husband, J.T Rose of Kingsport, TN; Josh and wife, Lily Garrett of San Diego, CA; Justin and Noah Flatt of Harrisburg, NC; great-grandchildren, Corinne and Sasha Rose of Kingsport, TN; brother, Ronnie and wife, Pam Robbins of Kingsport, TN; sister, Patricia and husband Warren Williams of Jonesville, VA. Her wishes were to be buried with graveside services at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. The graveside services will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. with Doug Messer and Paul Davis Jr. officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:15 A.M. for the service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Hope Community Church Medical Equipment Ministry.
