Obituary Susan Jane (Boggs) Middleton, Born May 16, 1931, received her heavenly reward July 19, 2020. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Mother is surely present with the Lord and singing in the heavenly choir. She was of the Pentecostal faith and never failed to share the word of God, a prayer for anyone who requested it, and was always a giver of her time, home, food, and faith. She made sure us children were taken to church and taught us by her walk and sometimes a keen switch. Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Fred F. Middleton Sr., parents Floella (Witt) Boggs and Judge Finley Boggs and step-mother Cornie (Light) Boggs. Daughter Frances Middleton Ridings and son-in-law Bobby G. Ridings I and daughter-in-law Gloria Diane (Disney) Middleton. Her brothers Paul Boggs, Clifford Boggs, Lawrence Boggs and Bobby Boggs. Sister Jean Boggs Maiden and brother-in-law Paul Maiden. She is survived by her children; Fred Middleton Jr.; Louise Wynn (Mosco); Randall Middleton; Connie Hall (Danny); David Middleton (Patricia); Regina Garrett (Tim); Greg Middleton (Malissa); Reva Slagle (Darrell); Ruby Sanders (Greg); Tim Middleton, Steven Middleton (Melissa). 29 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Sister Lorraine Phelps. Sisters-in-law Virginia Boggs and Loretta Boggs. Special Daughters-in-law Debbie Honeycutt and Jill Middleton. Many foster children who loved her as if she were their own mother. Mother will be missed, but her reward is worth a little sorrow for us while we wait to see her again. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastors David Jones and DJ Wilder officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Saturday until the time of the service. A graveside will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday at the Middleton Family Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Sunday to go to the cemetery. At the families request ALL guest must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to covid-19 state regulations, those attending the visitation and funeral are asked to wear masks/facial covering.
