Steven Allen Combs age 43 of Garland, TX was born Sunday, February 17, 1974 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA for two years on the USS Tuscaloosa. He retired from Exide Battery and was of the Baptist Faith. Steven was an avid hunter and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his sister Susan, grandparents Maggie and Spencer Burgan, Geraldine Williams and several aunts and uncles. Steven is survived by his wife Bridgett Combs of the home, two daughters Elizabeth and Savannah Combs of the home, mother and step-father Irene and Bill Whittmore of Johnson City, TN, father Bob "Bosco" Combs and Tammy Edgar of Pennington Gap, VA, one sister Melissa Lovin and husband, John of Charleston, SC, nieces Whitney Arnold and husband, Hunter of Church Hill, TN, Kayla Lovin of Charleston, SC and one nephew Keith Lovin of Charleston, SC. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Friendship Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA with Fred Cagle and Gary Burgan officiating.
