Stephen "Steve" Raye Mullins, 69, of Jonesville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Steve was born on February 17, 1954 in Jonesville to the late Cass and Mary Collins Mullins. He was a 1973 graduate of Jonesville High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years serving all around the area. He retired from the Town of Big Stone Gap. Steve attended the Free Pentecostal Church of God. He had an outgoing personality, and he didn't know a stranger. He loved to be outdoors, working around the farm, planting his garden, and loved to go fishing. His light shined out to all the little children. Steve was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Mullins; father in-law, Coleman "Red" Shepherd; brother in-laws, Rondle and Larry Shepherd.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Sue Shepherd Mullins; two great nieces, Aubri and Addison Shepherd of the home; brother, Bill Mullins and wife Jeanie; sisters, Debra Pace, Patsy Graham, and Leona Nave and husband Jack; very special mother in-law, Cornie Shepherd; sister in-law, Joyce Mullins; brothers-in-law; Berlie Shepherd, Gary Shepherd and wife, Rhonda; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Ewing and Pastor Jonathan Jones officiating. A committal service will follow at Powell Valley Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
