Obituary Shirley Mae Garrett Sanders age, 87 of Jonesville, VA was born February 3, 1936 in Harlan, KY but lived most of her life in Lee County, Virginia and passed away February 25, 2023 in Jonesville, VA surrounded by her loving family. Shirley had been a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church for 40 years and loved and enjoyed many things such as crocheting, making prayer shawls for those in need and loved watching her favorite nightly game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also got a lot of joy out of babysitting her grandchildren and other children in the community. She is preceded in death by her parents Arvil and Elizabeth Garrett, her late husband Thomas Sanders, one son Randy Schulmeister, three brothers Charles Garrett, A.W. Garrett, Dixie Garrett. Shirley is survived by her children Brenda Funk of Florida, Linda Hurd and husband Jerry, Cindy Crabtree and husband Richard. Tommy Sanders and wife Malenna, Tammy Williams and husband Garry, Billy Sanders and wife Missi all of Virginia, her brothers Roy Garrett, Teddy Garrett, one sister Bertha Mae Wynn. Sisters-in-law Midge Garrett and Jean Garrett. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Colby Hurd/Ryan Elswick, Brody Crabtree, Jessica Crabtree, Nicki Hall and husband Troy, Courtney Lawson and husband Brian, Cory Sanders and wife Brittany, Matthew Sanders, Destiny Sanders, Harleigh Sanders, Kirsten Sanders, Justin Williams, Crystal Schulmeister, Tina Schulmeister, Jason Mitchell and great-grandchildren Lucas, Gavin, James, Amanda, Robert, Isabella, Stephine, Preston, many neices , nephews, friends and best friend Janice Green. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:00 PM A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with David Parkey officiating.
