Shirley (Noonie) Ann LaForce Lane, age 87, of Gate City, VA (Alley Valley community) passed away Thursday evening (February 29, 2024) at her residence after a illness. She was born on July 5, 1936 a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Alice Sendia (Kimbler) LaForce.

She was the widow of Banner Eugene Lane and is also preceded in death by a great granddaughter: Emberly Madison Kindle along with 2 sisters: Bessie Beatrice LaForce Elliot and Helen Berniece LaForce Leonard.

She has left to cherish her memory, her children and significant others: Shirley Jean Lane Gibson (Doug), Kenneth Eugene Lane (Sandy) and Jeanne Ann Lane Johnson.

Grandchildren and significant others: Shirley Glenna Collins & Greg Glace, Jerry (Bud) Glenn Collins Junior, Nathaniel Charles Collins, Kenneth Shawn Lane (whom she raised as her own) & Kayla Gardner and Mason Clay Hansen.

Great grandchildren and significant others: Haley Morgan Light Kindle (Scotty), Trevor Wayne Hagy, Jackson Lane Collins and Kenneth Jace Lane. 2 Sisters: Lillie Lee LaForce McCormick and Mable (Jo) Madeline LaForce Bentley.

In Keeping with her wishes, Shirley will be cremated and no services are planned at this time. The immediate family will be getting together privately, Monday, March 4, 2024.

The family would like to give special "Thank You" to Shirley Jean Lane Gibson and Jerry (Bud) Glen Collins Junior for the 3 years of wonderful around the clock care that you provided. Thank you for allowing her to pass at home like she wanted. All of us are eternally grateful. We would also like to thank Elite Hospice of Bristol for their compassionate care during the difficult time, Dr. Todd Cassel and his team at Clinch River Health Services for the many years of care. Last, but not least, Red Hill Baptist Church of Gate City for all the prayers and concern along the way.
