Samuel Audia age 93 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Sunday, April 15, 1923 in Appalachia, VA and passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. A lifelong resident of Lee County, Sam ws the oldest living member of First Christian Church of Pennington Gap, VA, he was proud to have served as an Army Air Corps Staff Sergeant during World War II and to have been the Valedictorian of the 1941 class of St. Charles High School. Sam was served in recent years by the MEOC Pace program. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie McElyea Audia, one daughter Lisa Olinger, one son Michael Audia and three brothers Domer, Joe and John Audia. Sam is survived by three sons Louis Cecil Audia of Pennington Gap, VA, David Samuel Audia and wife, Patricia of Jonesville, VA and Mark Timothy Audia and wife, Vicki of Horseshoe, NC and one daughter Joella Audia Peirce of Blountville, TN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren Brian, Kelly, Kent and Dan Audia, Susan Audia Adams, Brandon, Josh and Brad Olinger, Jason and Deedee Griffin, seventeen great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Geraldine Audia Bailey of Dot, VA. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Bob Richards and Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm Saturday until the time of the service on Saturday. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 pm Sunday to go to the cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Army National Guard Honors Team the local VFW.
