Obituary Sammy Edward Robinette age 68 of Duffield, Virginia passed away Tuesday March 13th, 2018 at Holston Valley Hospital while surrounded by his family. He was a Christian of the Baptist Faith. He was born in Duffield, Virginia on Wednesday June 1st, 1949 and also made his home there with his loving wife Margaret Louise Robinette of 49 years and their three sons. Sammy retired from the coal mines where he worked underground for many years. He enjoyed hunting herbs, collecting antiques and gardening. Sammy also enjoyed serving the elderly and homebound of his community. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Viola Robinette and one brother Otis Robinette. Sammy is survived by his wife of Margaret of the home; 3 sons and 5 grandchildren, Brian and wife Sarah of Dryden (Siera, Payton, Baylee), Michael and wife Karen of Big Stone Gap (Devin and fianc Abigail McKinney), and Nathan (Katelyn), two brothers Jerry Robinette, Lester Wayne Robinette, six sisters Sue Davis, Geraldine Bishop, Betty Bishop, Jean Young Gibson, Ann Phillips and Andrea Gunn, one great-grandchild Adelaide (Siera and fianc Steven Hackler) and many much loved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Sunday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 19, 2018 at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 noon Monday to go to the cemetery.
