Rufus King age 91 of Pennington Gap, VA and formerly of the Fleenor Town Community in Jonesville, was born in Kentucky on Sunday, September 14, 1924 and passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He had been a member of the Fleenor Town Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary King, parents Offie and Callie King, step-father who was a good dad Fairbanks Napier, a brother Offie King, Jr., an infant brother Huey King and foster sister Margaret Madden. Rufus is survived by a brother Chad King and wife, Mary Ann of Woodway, VA and his foster brother Verlin Madden of Evarts, KY. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Butch Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Evarts Memorial Gardens in Evarts, KY. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Wednesday until the time of the service.
