She was a woman of extraordinary faith, a friend, a prayer warrior, an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, living her life for her Lord, her family, and for others. She regularly attended Wallens Creek Covenant Church and also evening services at Pennington Gap First Baptist Church.
Ruby worked at Eastman Kodak, Lee County School System, and Ramada Inn Hotels from which she retired. She always said that her number one job was raising her four boys.

She was always ready to help and volunteer in the community, loved writing poetry, and gardening. She excelled in basketball during her high school years at Pennington High School.
She leaves a legacy of love and faithfulness first to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and also to her family. Although her earthly journey is complete her faith and kindness will continue to inspire and encourage others to live a Godly life.
