Roy Allen Sturgill, Sr. age 69 of the Hagan Community in Jonesville, VA was born Sunday, June 9, 1946 in Dryden, VA and passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He had retired as a landscaper. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Melissa Sturgill, two brothers Albert and Clarence Sturgill, four sisters Alice Barnette, Sue Mabe, Ruby Napier, Sylvia Jimenez and Billie Jean Sturgill. Roy is survived by his wife Helen Sturgill of the home, four sons Michael Sturgill and Bryan Sturgill both of the home, Daniel Sturgill and wife, Shannon and Roy Sturgill, Jr. and wife, Abby all of Jonesville, VA, two daughters Helen Livesay and husband, Wayne of Jonesville, VA and Loretta Manning and husband Gary of Claiborne County, TN. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren, two brothers Sammy Sturgill of Perry, FL and Danny Sturgill of Jonesville, VA and four sisters Patty Gibson of Palm Harbor, FL, Margie Spears of North Carolina, Peggy Davis of Florida and Bessie Bear of Claxton, GA.
