Obituary

Ronnie Glen Bailey, age 75, of Keokee, VA entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2026 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

Ronnie was born on April 3, 1950, to the late Virgil and Iva Bailey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Huston and Claude and his Sister Dinah Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Sean (Kala) Bailey of Duffield; his wife Gilda of Keokee; his brother Melvin Bailey of Keokee; his sister, Sylvia Jackson of Jonesville; his grandchildren Adalyn, Bryce, and Cailyn Bailey of Duffield; his nieces Angie Mosely and Diane Malone of Keokee; his nephews Huston Bailey of Earlville, IL, and Tracy Bailey (Aggie) of Keokee.; nieces Beth Kueteman of Ottawa, IL, Laurie Bailey of Sheridan, IL, Debbie Moore (Steve) of Ottawa, IL, and Shelley Naggs of Illinois; his best friend, Mark Mountcastle of Keokee; many great nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was born in Somerset, KY and moved to Delvale, Virginia at the young age of 3. Ronnie was a graduate of Keokee High School and worked for Westmorland Coal Company at the Holton Complex where he retired as a United Mine Worker. While later in life Ronnie loved to travel, take drives, and see the beauty of creation, he especially loved Delvale, Keokee, and Lee County. He was very proud of his Southwest Virginia coal mining heritage.

Ronnie enjoyed meeting people, reminiscing about "the good old days," trying new restaurants, looking at antiques and attending his church. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Ronnie was a follower of Christ and had trusted in His finished work at Calvary. He was a member of Three Bells Methodist Church in Duffield and also attended Legion Memorial Church in Big Stone Gap.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Cook and the staff at the Norton Cancer Center who helped Ronnie receive the best possible treatment during his illness.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Those wishing to go in procession with the family to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30.
