Ronald Lee 'Ronnie' Baumgardner, 61, of Rose Hill, Virginia, passed away suddenly, Saturday, September 19, 2015 near his home in Rose Hill. He was born, Monday, February 28, 1955. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Peter 'Pete' Baumgardner, and his wife of 30 years, the love of his life, Terrie Birdeene 'Bird' Cottrell Baumgardner. He is survived by his son Ronald 'Little Ronnie' Baumgardner, Jr. (Melissa) Rose Hill, grandchildren, Andrew, Coy, Lil Ronnie III, Amaya, Addlynn, Ronnie James, Kurstin, Tiffany and Kendra, great-grandchildren, Sophie and Ryalin, his mother, Ruth Marcum Baumgardner and very special friend Newman Goins. His brothers, James (Louise) Baumgardner, Telford, Tennessee; Roger (Debbie) Baumgardner, DeKalb, Texas; Sam (Diane) Baumgardner, Rose Hill, his sisters, Lillian Sharp and Betty Collins, Rose Hill, and Hazel (Jay) Blair, Jonesville and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Ronnie spent his entire life working in logging. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Wednesday, September 23, 2015 until the time of the service at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday with Pastor Ronnie Sizemore officiating.Burial will follow at the Pace Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia where he will be buried by his wife, Bird.
