Roger Wayne Davis was born on October 22, 1957 and passed away in his home on November 26, 2015 after a long, hard-fought medical battle. He was a Lee County resident for his entire life. He was a farmer, a coal truck driver and a Lee County School bus driver for many years. Roger was preceded in death by his father, W.M. Davis; his paternal grandparents, Asher and Eva Davis and his maternal grandparents, Lincoln and Carrie Marcum. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lana Davis; one son, Joseph Wayne and wife Melissa; one granddaughter, Riley Jo; four step-grandchildren, Trevor Orr, Chase Orr, Shannon Saylor and David Saylor; two step-great granddaughters, Alice and Sophie; his mother, Jewell Davis; brothers; Kyle Davis and wife Shirley, Ricky Davis and wife Natalie; Chris Davis and wife Peggy; one sister; Carolyn Bell and husband John as well as many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Caring House of Durham, NC. The Caring House is a wonderful home away from home during battles with cancer.
