Robert Junior Blanken age 74 of Jonesville, VA was born Tuesday, December 23, 1941 in Jonesville and passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home. He was a member of the Fleenortown Baptist Church and worked as a farmer for Denver Browning. He was preceded in death by his parents Alonzo and Dora Blanken, wife Connie Blanken and a daughter Karen Blanken. Robert is survived by two sons Tim Blanken and wife, Dottie of Dryden, VA and Jeff Blanken of Jonesville, VA, five grandchildren Tyler Blanken, Casey Blanken, Missy Stewart, Amy Stewart and Kayla Seargent. He is also survived by one brother Donnie Blanken and wife, Loretta of Jonesville, VA, two sisters Betty Thomas and husband, Don of Kingsport, TN and Mary Smith and husband, Dale of Jonesville, VA. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home in Jonesville, VA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday with Rev. Micky Gibson officiating with a private burial to follow at the Slemp Cemetery.
