Obituary Ricky James Woodard, age 59, of the Left Poor Valley Community in Pennington Gap, VA passed away July 7, 2020 at his home in Pennington Gap, VA. Ricky was born in Pennington Gap, VA on December 23, 1960. He was a retired Coalminer and loved the mountains, ginseng and trout fishing. He was a member of the St. Charles First Baptist Church in St. Charles, VA. He also loved to attend Puckett's Creeks Church of God. Ricky is preceded in death his mother Lois Walton; his father James Woodard; his step-father Kenny Walton; his step-mother Diana Woodard; his brothers Ronnie Woodard and Robert Woodard; his niece Brianna Warner. Ricky is survived by his son Ricky Lynn Woodard and wife Holly of Wallens Creek Community; his daughter Lina Woodard Foster and husband Matt of Pennington Gap, VA; seven grandchildren; four brothers Junior Woodard, Randy Woodard and wife Dianna, Todd Woodard and Brian Woodard; five sisters Robin Trostle and husband Ronnie, Shannon Woodard, Margo Mooneyhan and husband Casey, April Wilson and husband Paul, and Melissa Woodard; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 10 , 2020, at the St. Charles First Baptist Church in St. Charles, VA from 5-7 p.m. Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. with Pastor Paul Davis Jr. and Pastor Jimmy Ewing officiating.
