Obituary Ricky Trent age 56 of Duffield, VA was born in Norton, VA on Wednesday, January 17, 1962 and passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was a member of Westend Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap, VA and had worked for the Powell Valley News as a pressman. He made carvings, canes and animals, he loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Landon Trent, Sr. and Oma Trent, brothers Lee and Leonard Trent, Tony and Danny Lambert and a sister Mary Ann Spears. Ricky is survived by his wife Peggy Trent of the home, one son Matthew Trent and wife, Crystal of Randleman, NC, two daughters Alicia Trent of Kingsport, TN and Ashley Trent of Blackwater, VA. He is also survived by three brothers Landon R. Trent, Jr. and wife, Beth of Big Stone Gap, VA, David Trent, Sr. and wife, Kimberly of Gray, TN, James Trent and wife, Patti of Farmville, VA, two sisters, Lois Collier of Kingsport, TN, Elaine Burton of Jonesborough, TN, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA with Tim Jarrett officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 AM Friday for the service.
