Ricky Dean Bishop, 66, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2025, at his home in Dryden, Virginia. He was born on October 13, 1958 in Stickleyville, Virginia. Ricky was a proud member of Dryden Baptist Church.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nadine Bishop; step father and best friend, CW Castle; and brother, Tony Bishop.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen Bishop; two daughters, Jennifer Ward (Josh) and Melinda Darnell (Ronnie); three grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, Adam Skidmore; three sassy sisters, Janet Lane (Roy), Debbie Wells (Greg), Doris Wallen (Jackie); one brother, Roy Bishop (Tanya); one partner in crime, his dog, Little Bit; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis Jr., officiating.

A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
