Rhonda Lynn Spears Barker, 62, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at her home in Keokee, Virginia after battling several health issues.

Rhonda was born September 29, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Jake and Betty Spears.

She attended college and worked in retail and management for a few years. She loved her job and loved working with people. She was always outgoing and never met a stranger. She loved everyone and was always kind and would do anything for anyone, especially her family. She loved her grandchildren very much and always enjoyed getting to spend time with them and her family, too. She always enjoyed going to church and singing for the Lord. She always prayed and had faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Betty Spears. Grandparents, Lelia and Herman Britt. Uncles, Bill, Gary, Roger and Ronald Britt and Aunt Brenda Britt. Cousins, Jill Crabtree and Lora Parsons.

Sister-in-laws, Marynell Parsons, Anita (Luther) Rhodes, and Gwenda Coomer (Jaydee).

She is survived by her husband, James Nicky Barker. Daughter, Kala (Sean) Bailey, Grandchildren, Adalyn, Bryce, Cailyn. Brother, Chad Spears. Aunt, Glenda Cochran.

Sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Barker (Mario) Orellana, Nancy Ellis (Conley). Brothers-in-law, Rex Barker and Carl Barker Jr. (Sue).

Along with several cousins and friends.

Rhonda's wishes was to be cremated with no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to Three Bells Methodist Church in Duffield, Virginia and/or Legion Memorial Church in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

Rhonda and her family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
