Ressie M. Carter, born April 6, 1927 in Lee County, Virginia, passed away peacefully July 12, 2015 at the Soin Medical Center at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vogal Carter; son, Richard Carter; sisters, Myrtle Lawson, Bernice Carter, Lois Paxton; and a brother, Jimmy Johnson. She is survived by her son, Morris (Gladys) Carter; daughter, Brenda (Bob) Durbin; daughter in law, Kimberly Carter; sister, Gladys Woodard from N. Hollywood, California; grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 4 PM until 6 PM service time at Newcomer Funeral Home,4104 Needmore Rd.
