Randy Garrison, age 57 of Johnson City, TN, was born in Painesville, OH on Friday, October 4, 1957 and passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. He was a retired corrections officer and truck driver and had served his country in the United States Army. Randy was a loving father and wonderful friend to many who lived his life with gentle humor, affection, and grace. He was of the Christian faith and had a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Garrison, brother John Garrison, and a niece, Stephanie Garrison. Randy is survived by his son Rance Garrison and wife, Andrea, of Norton, VA; fiance Judy Moon of Johnson City, TN; father Robert Garrison of Gallatin, TN; mother of his son Margaret Bledsoe of Dryden, VA; brother David Garrison of Pennington Gap, VA; cousin Renee Mullins and aunt Sue Mullins, both of Pennington Gap, VA; aunt Patti Garrison of Davenport, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Deacon Preston Mitchell of Christ Episcopal Church in Big Stone Gap officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the memorial service. Burial will follow at Pennington Memorial Cemetery in Stone Creek, VA. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital in honor of Lewis Randolf "Randy" Garrison.
