Obituary

Obituary Preacher Ray Bowlin age 77 of the Monarch Community of St. Charles, VA was born Friday August 7, 1942 in St. Louis, MO and passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He retired after 38 years of service at Beacon Light Baptist Church in the Monarch Community of St. Charles, VA and 28 years of service for Lee County, VA driving a school bus, he was also a member of the Odd Fellows. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Bowlin, one son Ronnie Eugene Patterson, parents S.T. and Bernice Bowlin, one sister Barbare Dale Patterson, two brothers Robert Gale and Larry Wayne Bowlin. Ray is survived by three sons Allen Bowlin and wife, Betty of North Carolina, Terry Patterson and wife, Gretta of St. Charles, VA, Jeffery Bowlin and wife, Sherry of Kingsport, TN, one daughter Debbie Phillips and husband, Carl of Dayton, OH, nine grandchildren, and two brothers Don Bowlin and wife, Brenda of Sharon, TN, Gary Bowlin of Nashville, TN, one sister Sue Long and husband, Terry of Fulton, KY and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.
