Pearl Smith Harber age 90 was born on Thursday, November 6, 1924 in Lee County, VA and departed this life to enter her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the home of her son, Rick Smith. She had spent most of her life in Lee County and had been employed with the Lee County school system and senior citizens program in Pennington Gap where she was manager of the center. Pearl loved gospel and blue grass music and loved to sing and play her guitar. She was a member of the Smyth Chapel Church and also attended the Christian Church in Pennington Gap and also the Admant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents J.M. And Ella Mosley, one son Jerry Wayne Smith in 1985, husbands Cecil Smith in 1992 and Dennis Fairchild and Vernon Harber, two brothers and two sisters. Pearl is survived by one daughter Kay and Cleo Bloomer of Indiana, two sons David and Amanda Smith of Mountain City, TN and Rick and Judy Smith of Pennington Gap, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott and Treva, Sara and Jessica, Jerry, Steve, Shane and Kevin, several great-grandchildren, special nephew and wife, Louis and Valarie Smith, special friends, Don and Barbara Harber, Bennie and Nancy Seargent and a host of other family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. Special thanks to In Home Health Care for their love and support for Pearl. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Province Home in Pennington Gap. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Saturday with Rev. Jim Clem and Rev. Jess Griffith officiating. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, at the Smith Family Cemetery in Pennington Gap, VA. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 PM Sunday to go to the cemetery.
