Norma Arlene Ferguson age 78 of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Dizney, KY on Thursday, December 1, 1938 and passed away May 10, 2017 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Norma retired as the Library Branch Manager of Lee County Public Library after 36 years. She was a member of Belchers Chapel Church. After retiring she enjoyed reading, genealogy and politics. Norma loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Oren Howard, Sr. and Elsie Elliott, an infant son Mark Ferguson, brothers Oren Howard Elliott, Jr., George Wallace Elliott, and a nephew Mike Elliott. Norma is survived by her husband James (Pete) Ferguson, one son Jim Ferguson and wife, Kathy, one daughter Tammy Ferguson-Pennington, grandson, Rob Pennington and a great granddaughter, her sister Martina Elliott Daugherty and husband BJ and sister in law Faye Elliott. Norma is also survived by her nieces and nephews Jan Copeland, Vickie Stallard, Howard Elliott III, Connie Daugherty and Wallace Elliott. Great nieces and nephews are Christy Teffeteller, Randy Surber, Cara Copeland, Kelley Bledsoe, Jordan Laningham, Craig Copeland, Howard Elliott IV, great nieces and nephews all her favorites. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery 1:45 pm Friday for the service.
