Obituary Nelline Ely Mullins, age 86, of the Pucketts Creek community in Pennington Gap, Virginia went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Nelline was born on Tuesday, November 22, 1932. She was born and lived the majority of her life in Lee County, Virginia. She had an infectious smile which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed music, flowers, swinging on her front porch, drinking coffee, cooking, and baking. Nelline enjoyed visits with family and friends and insisted on feeding them before they left. She loved going to church and attended the Free Pentecostal Church of God in Pucketts Creek. Nelline was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She retired from Lee County Public Schools where she served countless children at Pennington and Dryden Elementary Schools. Nelline will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Leander and Edna (Cooper) Ely; three sisters, Bernette Wells, Louella Johnson, Mary Mullins; two brothers, Randel Ely and Bertain Ely; and her husband, Glenn Mullins. Nelline is survived by her son, Glenn Mullins of Pennington Gap, her daughters, Shelia Belcher of Jonesville, Connie Calton of Pennington Gap, Tamela Pennington of Jonesville; her grandchildren, Ronnie Pendergraft (Stacey) of Front Royal, VA, Cari Belcher, Kailyn Belcher, Kristi Martin (David), Dustin Pennington and Kaylin Pennington of Jonesville, VA, Randalene Belcher, L.W. Calton (Felicia) and Brandon Calton (Crissy) of Pennington Gap, VA; great-grandchildren, Olivia Pendergraft of Cross Junction, VA, Gracie Calton, Chloe Calton and Emily Olinger of Pennington Gap; two great-great-grandchildren, Jameson and Ellison; special niece and caregiver, Tonya Counts; several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Jim Ewing officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. Thursday until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2019 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. to go to the cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
