Nancy Parsons Woodard, age 73 of Jonesville, VA was born in Wallens Creek on Sunday, June 14, 1942 and passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Big Stone Gap, VA. She had formerly been employed by DeRoyal Industries and enjoyed bowling, bingo, softball and was a member of the Eastern Sunrise Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband Lonnie Parsons and second husband Silas Woodard, parents Robert and Virginia Sybert, daughter Wilma Jean Carrier, brother Roscoe Sybert, four sisters Bertha Adkins, Hattie Gant, Jewel Ann Sybert, Ruth Sybert and a grandchild. Nancy is survived by two sons Allen Parsons & Loretta Mullins of Duffield, VA, Virgil & Yolanda Parsons of Woodway, VA, two daughters Shirley & Allen Smith of Keokee, VA, Linda & Scott Bailey of Jonesville, VA, one step-son Joey & Charlie Woodard of Keokee, VA, two step-daughters Tammy & Dean Howard of Pennington Gap, VA, Lora & David Parsons of Keokee, VA, twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers Cotton & Ruby Sybert of Duffield, VA, Gene Sybert of Bristol, TN, two sisters Betty Powell of Beaumont, TX, Ethel Abernathy of Hickory, NC, and two half-brothers David Sybert & Robert Sybert both of Duffield, VA, many nieces, nephews and special friends Jerry Bryant and Lilly Hodges. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Leonard Lane officiating. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
