Obituary Nancy Joan Russell, age 78 of Keokee, VA, was born on February 24, 1944, and passed away June 26, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, flowers (especially roses), and birds. She was a hard-worker, and she tried to instill a good work-ethic in each of her children. She was a beautiful lady, and had a great smile and laugh. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James V. Wade, her brother, Johnny Hammons, her parents, Roy and Lucille Hammons, and her second husband, Earl D. Russell. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Wade Davis (Darrell) of Bristol, TN, Sherrie Wade Frazier (Dan) of Gladstone, VA, son, James (Jimmy) D. Wade (Kristy) of Big Stone Gap, VA, daughter, Andrea Russell Hines (Andy) of Jonesville, VA, son Joshua S. Russell of Keokee, and daughter, Kieshia Russell Carey (Jason) of Middlesboro, KY. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Lee Health and Rehab Center for the excellent care provided to Nancy for the last several years, and would also like to thank Caris Hospice for their care, especially Nurse Ashley.
