Obituary
Nancy B. Freeman age 98 of Dryden, VA passed away February 24, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She had been a resident of Lee County all her life, and was a retired restaurant cook, nanny, housekeeper, and wife and beloved mother. Nancy was a devoted Christian of the Baptist Belief and a member of the Pocahontas Lodge. She is survived by one daughter Rhonda Oxford of Dryden, VA, one goddaughter Anne Banner Campbell of Tennessee, one grandson Johnathan Oxford of Dryden, VA, two special people she thought of as her granddaughters Whitney Stidham of Dryden, ,VA, and Rachel Lawson of Jonesville, VA and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by father "Edd" James Standifer and mother Junie Greer, her husband Marshall Freeman, daughter Mary "Louise" Freeman, son-in-law Edward "Buddy" Oxford, one sister Beulah Orick and husband, Glen. And six brothers Raymond Standifer and wife, Bonnie, Harold Standifer and wife, Jean, Charles Standifer and wife, Julie, Earl Standifer and wife, Bobbie, Buster Standifer and Dee Standifer.
The family request that masks be worn during the visitation and funeral service as well as the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Doris Burnadean officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
