Mildred Bernice Sizemore, age 92 of Pennington Gap, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Welmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN after a brief illness. Bernice was born Thursday, January 24, 1924 and spent her entire life in Lee County, a devoted Christian, Bernice was a member of the Admant Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Lee County Community Hospital after many years as a supply clerk. Bernice was preceded in death by her devoted husband Hayden, and granddaughter Melissa. Additionally, Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Elkanah and Myrtle Johnson, and by brothers and sisters Glen Johnson, Golden Hargraves, Mavis Fleenor, Bertie Clarkson, June Ingle, Inez Krick and Jack Johnson. Bernice is survived by one son Wayne Sizemore and one grandson Andrew. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Tuesday evening at the Province Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at the chapel with James Clem officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday morning at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
