Mike Burley Byington of Jonesville, VA, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Ruby L. Byington, daughter Annette Byington and son Anthony Byington. Granddaughters Karen and Kim, great-grandsons Chaise and Collin, one sister, Virginia Stammon and one half brother Tommy Byington of Lee County,VA. He is preceded in death by father Moran Byington, mother Mattie Hackney, four brothers Maurice, Bill, Walker, and Sam Byington and three sisters Ruth Terry, Maurine Ledington and Carrie Haynes. He attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a 32nd Degree Free Mason and Jericho Shrine Temple in Tennessee. Mr. Byington previously worked at A&A Security and Joy Enterprises in Duffield,VA. He retired as chief inspector for General Motors after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Josh Osteen officiating. Receiving friends, Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at the Millers Chapel Cemetery.
