Michael Joseph Hamilton age 51 of Dryden, VA was born Friday, August 6, 1965 in Norton, VA and passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. He retired from Norfolk Southern Rail Road, was a member of the "BLE" Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and was of the Protestant Faith. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fannie Hamilton and Willie Hamilton, uncles Buford and Homer Hamilton and Curtis Isom. Michael is survived by his mother Charlotte Absher of Norton, VA and his father Bill Hamilton of Dryden, VA, daughters Lauren Hamilton of Chattanooga, TN and Amanda Hamilton of Dryden, VA, one granddaughter Ezra Bates of Chattanooga, TN, three brothers, Shannon Hamilton of Knoxville, TN, Kevin Hamilton of Wise, VA and Chris Hamilton of Esserville, VA, four sisters Lisa Ridings of Johnson City, TN, Jody Absher, Misty Absher and Stacy Sturgill all of Norton, VA. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA with James O. Mullins officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM Tuesday for the service.
