Matthew Lee Pierson - December 3, 1999 – May 25, 2026

Matthew Lee Pierson went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2026. He was a devoted Christian who attended Riverland Church in Summerville, South Carolina. Matthew loved his family dearly and had a special love for his pets.

Matthew and his fiancée, Charity Byrd, shared a love for the beach and enjoyed spending time together there, as well as traveling on cruise ships to different places. He will be remembered for his caring heart, strong faith, and the love he showed to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis “Buddy” Ramey; his grandfather, Lee Pierson; his grandfather, Louis Galloway; and his grandmother, Jo Ann Galloway.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Steven and Lois Pierson; his fiancée, Charity Byrd of the home; his grandmother, Joan (Jim) Pierson; and many extended family members, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Jones-Pennington gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.

The committal service will follow the service at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
