Mary A. Cook, 89 of Pennington Gap, Va was born on May 2. 1934 and passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Mae Garrett and one brother Junior Garrett and one sister Sevline Sarver. Her former husband Roy L. Cook, one son Christopher Cook, a daughter in law Missy Cook.

She is survived by three sons Michael Cook, Pennington Gap, Va, Roy (Gene) Cook and wife Lisa, Cawood, Ky, William (Willie) Cook of Jonesville, Va. One daughter Marilyn Putman, Greer, SC 12 Grandchildren Amanda (Lyndon) Livesay, Christina Cook, Carol (Chance) Thompson, Shawn Cook, Marie (Drew) Havran, Brad Putman, Lance (Lindsey) Cook, Mason (Grace) Cook, Madyson Cook, Haley (Dalton) Overbay, Allison Cook, Miranda Cook and 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Jerry Garrett of Jonesville, Va and one sister Wanda Elliott of Pennington Gap, Va.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Pennington Memorial Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
