Marvin Homer Mullins age 73 of the Cooney Hollow Community in Jonesville, VA was born Wednesday, May 19, 1943 in Blackwater, VA and passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home due to injuries substanted in a farming accident. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and a member of the McConnell Chapel Church. Marvin was a self employed contractor, machine operator and farmer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Cass and Mary Mullins. Marvin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Mullins of the home, one son Marty Joe Mullins of Jonesville, VA, his grandchildren Nicholas Mullins and Jessalyn Mullins both of Jonesville, VA, two brothers Billy Glen Mullins and wife, Jenny of Fairborn, OH, Steve Mullins and wife, Sue of Jonesville, VA, three sisters Leona Nave and husband, Jack of Big Stone Gap, VA, Patsy Childs of Lexington, KY and Debra Pace of Ewing, VA. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends that he loved as his own family, and a very special friend CE Copeland and wife, Gail. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Chris Clark and Jack Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Wednesday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Military Rites will be conducted by the Local VFW Posts and the Army National Guard Honors Team. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:00 PM Thursday to go to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Ely, Garry Ely, Ed Kent, Brandon Elkins, Chris Jones, Terry Brooks and Kevin Slemp.
