Martha Jane Fields, born May 30, 1955, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, surrounded by love.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Mae and Albert Pittman; her husband, Melvin Fields; her sisters, Lillie Fields and Patty Miser; and her brother, Earnest Pittman.

She is survived by her loving children, Melissa (Butch) Whited and Tonia (Red) Lawson. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Justin Greer and Nicholas Greer, and her precious great-grandchildren, Landon Deirth and Julieona Greer, who brought her endless joy. Martha is also survived by her sister, Linda Shepherd.

An honorary mention is lovingly given to her adopted granddaughter, Emilie Clawson, who helped care for Martha during her courageous battle with cancer and held a special place in her heart.

Martha fought throat cancer with remarkable strength, courage, and grace, never allowing the illness to take her beautiful smile. She faced each day with resilience and faith, inspiring all who knew her. Most of all, Martha loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart, and that love will live on through them.

That she was called home on Easter Sunday brings comfort to her family, as they are reminded of the promise of eternal life.

Per her wishes, Martha will be cremated.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April, 9, 2026, at Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
