Mark Sidney Edens, age 74 of Vinemont, AL passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born May 13, 1950 to Eugene "Gene" Edens and Hazel Ruth Edens. Mark spent his early years in Jonesville, VA then moved to Mt. Carmel, TN before transferring to Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jaclyn Edens and son, Justin Edens.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Edens; son, Jarrod Edens; daughter, Jessica Edens; grandchildren, Dylan Yankee, Fletcher Jennings, Ava Edens, Amelia Edens; daughter-in-law, Julie Jennings Edens; sister, Martha (Mike) Willis; brother, Rick (Shirleen) Edens; in-laws, Cecil and Georgia Sumpter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mark was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Montevallo with a degree in Forestry. He owned and operated a woodyard in Jonesville, VA until 1985 when he took a position with Louisiana Pacific until his retirement in 2017.

Mark was a member of Desperation Church and a man of great faith and integrity. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM.

Mark will then go back to his home town of Jonesville, VA for a visitation on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM at Powell Valley Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA; followed by a graveside service at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway.

Mark Sidney Edens and his family are in the care of Cullman Heritage Funeral Home and Powell Valley Funeral Home.
