Mack Quillen, age 83, of Pennington gap, Laid down his burdens and found peace on August 5, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Born on December 9, 1941, to Crit Quillen and Mary Hall Quillen, Mack carried a strong heart, a quick wit, and a generous spirit throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Lillian Ginger Quillen, and together they built a beautiful family rooted in laughter, love, and togetherness surviving for 60 years.

Mack was a proud father to Monakia Quillen, Mack Quillen (Sheila Quillen), and Zack Quillen (May Quillen). He was also a beloved grandfather to William Feck, Brittney Feck-Cahall (Jacob Cahall), Mackie Quillen, Aaron Quillen (Jewel Quillen), Kandace Jackson (Letcher Jackson), and Seth Quillen, and 8 great grand babies and one on the way.  His love for his family knew no bounds, and he made it his mission to fill every room with joy, laughter, and the smell of something good cooking.

A natural storyteller with a knack for jokes, Mack had a way of making people feel instantly at home. He found happiness in the simple pleasures—fishing on a quiet morning, dancing like nobody was watching, and sharing meals that brought everyone to the table. He had a laugh that was contagious, a heart that was open, and a presence that made life better for those who knew him. He was a member of P.A.C.E for 12 years.

Mack's memory will live on in the many lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love. His legacy is one of warmth, joy, and the importance of cherishing every moment.

He was welcomed home by his parents, siblings, and his grandson.

He was one of a kind. And he will be deeply missed.

Per his wishes Mack will be cremated with no formal services.

Mack and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

There will be a memorial-celebration of life held on August 16, 2025 at Pennington Gap Community Center 416760 W Morgan Ave

Pennington Gap, VA  24277 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
