Obituary

Mabel Eldridge Vangelakos Viscovich passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in the scenic hills of Harlan County, Kentucky, on May 14, 1936, Mabel was the beloved daughter of the late J.O. and Nannie Coomer Eldridge.

Throughout her long and full life, Mabel was known for her unwavering dedication and exceptional service as an Executive Assistant at the American Automotive Association (AAA). Remarkably, she devoted over 56 years to the association, bringing diligence, professionalism, and kindness to her work each day. Her commitment to the service team and warm spirit left an indelible mark on colleagues and friends alike.

Preceded in death by her cherished parents and her beloved husbands, Paul Viscovich and John Vangelakos; four sisters, Marie Irvin, Mary Seymour, Mabird Mills, and Maxine Eldridge; and three brothers, T.J. Eldridge, L.C. Eldridge, and A.Z. Eldridge.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, J.B. Eldridge; nieces, Melissa (Don) Harber and Tiffany (Jesse) Moore; great nieces and nephews, Amanda, Brandon (Katie), Dee, Tucker, Crystal, and Elijah; and great-great nieces and nephews, Kinley, Nova, Ava, and Rayden.

Per her wishes she will be laid to rest at Coomer Family Cemetery in Dryden in a private family ceremony.

Mabel Eldridge Vangelakos Viscovich and her family are in the care of Powell Valley Funeral Home.
