Lula Mae Dorris, 91, of Pennington Gap, formerly of Franklin, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Lee Health and Rehab.

Lula was born on June 2, 1933 in Pattonsville, Virginia to the late Quillen Bledsoe and Polly Robinette Bledsoe. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lula was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son Donald Dorris, her husband Donald Paul Dorris, five brothers; Junior, Oscar, George, Curtis, Quillen, and one infant brother, sisters; Nanny Bledsoe, Lucille Maude Lundy, And Mary Danner.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Rickie Dorris (Nancy), Robert Jeffery Dorris (Patricia), and daughter Jacklyn Richey (James), four grandchildren; Leeanna Jones, Adam Law, Whitney Gladden, Megan Key, six great grandchildren; Tavian Jones, Tevon Flippin, Zaiden Gladden, Mila Gladden, Serenity Key, and Aspen Law, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Mykal Ringstaff officiating.

A burial service will follow the funeral service at Robbins Cemetery in Pattonsville, Virginia.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
